Every day copyrights for very valuable books are expiring. After the copyright has expired, there are small groups of people who are taking these files and secretly using them to make themselves small fortunes, which are known as Lost Files.

What these people do is they take these books and republish them, create derivative works out of them, and some even use them as content for their websites. (It is a very powerful way to get Google to send you huge checks.)
